Kolkata & Shantiniketan Tour (6 Days / 5 Nights)

Day 1: Arrive Kolkata

Arrive in Kolkata. Depending on the time of your flight, you might like to explore the markets and nearby cafes which are great for trying some local delicacies. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Kolkata

After breakfast, you set out today to explore the city’s hidden gems. Start at Mother Teresa’s Mission and Mother House. Learn about her and her humanitarian efforts as you explore the grounds. Next, visit the Jain Temple to admire its stunning architecture. A short car ride brings you to the famed University of Calcutta. Here, you walk the grounds as your guide explains the history of the place and names some of the most influential students, like Nobel Prize winning economist Amartya Sen.

Post-lunch, visit the Magen David Synagogue, one of the largest Jewish temples open for worship in the Asian Pacific. Enjoy time at Eden Gardens, the hallowed grounds for the nation’s favorite pastime. After checking out what is arguably the most iconic stadium in the country, make a stop at the Victoria Memorial, a museum that’s home to a vast collection of sculptures, manuscripts, paintings and other items from the time of British rule. Finally, make a stop for photos on the Howrah Bridge—the sixth largest cantilever bridge on earth—as you make your way back to your hotel. Overnight stay at Kolkata.

Day 3: Gangasagar Excursion (110 kms / 4 hrs)

After early breakfast start for full day excursion to Gangasagar – an island in the confluence of River Ganga & Bay of Bengal & famous for Kapil Muni Ashram which is considered to be of great religious significance. Evening return back to Kolkata. Overnight stay at Kolkata.

Note: We provide AC vehicle for Kolkata to Ferry Ghat i.e. Lot No. 8 / Harwood Point (90 Km.) & back to Kolkata. After reaching Lot No. 8, guests have to take the ferry to cross the Muriganga river for Kachuberia. Later take a private car for Sagar Island from Kachuberia. Ferry cost & local vehicle cost from Kachuberia to Sagar Island & back are to be borne by guests.

Day 4: Kolkata – Shantiniketan (210 kms / 4 hrs)

After early breakfast check out from hotel & transfer to Shantiniketan. Shantiniketan was founded in 1901 by Nobel Laureate Shri Rabindranath Tagore who visualized a perfect harmony of humanity with nature. Arrive & check in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Shantiniketan.

Day 5: Shantiniketan Sightseeing

After breakfast visit Kopai & Khoai River, Amar Kutir (Handicraft Center), Visva - Bharati University Campus, the complex at "Uttarayan", Art Gallery, Museum & Ballavpur Deer Park. Post lunch drive to Kolkata. Evening savor the authentic Bengali cuisine and shop some souvenirs in New Market. Overnight stay at Kolkata.

Day 6: Kolkata - Departure

Today after breakfast, depending on the time of your flight you are assisted to drop at the airport 3 hours before your departure. We hope you will come back again to explore incredible India with us.
